Henry Cavill, who has played Superman in the DC Extended Universe since 2013’s Man of Steel, has officially congratulated Aquaman and its star Jason Momoa with a new water-themed photo. This comes off the heels of Aquaman reaching a new milestone passing Patty Jenkins’ highly-regarded Wonder Woman at the worldwide box office.

Aquaman has made quite the splash at the box office since its release, quickly passing fellow DCEU movies Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman worldwide in only a short amount of time. Some have even speculated that the James Wan-helmed aquatic adventure film could reach the highly coveted billion dollar mark before its run is over, a feat that no DC film has achieved since The Dark Knight Rises came out back in 2012. Simply put, this is a good time for both DC and Warner Bros., and a little celebrating from others involved in the universe was bound to happen.

Cavill did just this, offering up a new photo on his official Instagram congratulating both Momoa and director Wan on a film well done. The Man of Steel star posted that he finally got to see the film in Hungary - where he’s presumably still filming Netflix’s upcoming The Witcher series - and that everyone involved “smashes it out of the (water)park.” The photo itself, which is available below, takes on an appropriately water-themed setting and showcases the Superman actor’s unique brand of humor.

While Cavill’s future as Superman is cloudy at best (Momoa himself says he “absolutely” is not leaving the role, though Warner Bros. still hasn’t provided confirmation either way), the fact that he took the time out of his busy schedule filming The Witcher to not only see Aquaman, but provide a congratulatory post is a positive sign that the actor still has a lot of love for the DCEU. Perhaps with how successful Aquaman has been so far at the box office, both Warner Bros. and Cavill will finally get around to making the long-awaited sequel to Man of Steel, though, once again, nothing has been confirmed either way.

Given how successful DC’s past two standalone films have proven, especially with two characters that mainstream audiences may not have a lot of familiarity with, perhaps it’s best for the company to keep that kind of thinking moving ahead. This will especially be true if the upcoming Shazam! proves to be similarly successful with audiences. In fact, it might be best for the Superman character if he - Cavill included - takes a brief sabbatical from theaters and gives other DC superheroes a chance to shine as well as Aquaman has.
