Hasbro has unveiled a new range of Porg products to tie in with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and who could blame the iconic toy manufacturer? The film is still a month and a bit away from theaters and already the Porgs are a major talking point. It’s been impossible to avoid their influence as the Porgs have spread their tiny adorable wings all over pop culture. These cutesy creatures are residents of Ahch-To and they have been keeping Luke Skywalker company during his self-imposed exile....

WarnerMedia Entertainment’s HBO celebrated their Christmas with an image of Henry Cavill’s CG-lip Superman from the increasingly debated and talked about Justice League film. When WarnerMedia launched its new expanded streaming service, HBO Max, earlier this year, HBO simultaneously stopped participating in Apple TV Channels. This meant that new subscribers could not sign up for HBO through Apple TV Channels, but existing subscribers could continue to access their subscriptions. HBO appears to have flipped a switch today, however, that completely shuts off access to HBO via Apple TV Channels, including the ability to sign in using your Apple TV Channels subscription information....

His Dark Materials is the latest adaptation of Phillip Pullman’s trilogy of the same name, and unsurprisingly, HBO/BBC have made some changes from the original source material. While there is nothing that takes away from the core story, these may be a bit of a surprise to the book purists. Created by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), the new take on His Dark Materials stars Dafne Keen (Logan) as protagonist Lyra Belacqua, with James McAvoy and Ruth Wilson filling in key roles as Lord Asriel and Mrs Coulter alongside an expansive (and impressive) supporting cast, aiming to bring the books to life....

Since 1987, the name Hellraiser has been synonymous with the extra-dimensional villain lovingly referred to by fans as Pinhead, but the choice to go all-in on the franchise’s main antagonist was a mistake. Over the course of ten movies, Pinhead has gone from the mysterious villain in the shadows to a one-liner dropping main character. The diminishing popularity of the series with both fans and critics can be blamed on quite a few things, but making Hellraiser all about Pinhead is arguably one of them....

iOS 11 introduced a new indoor mapping feature that offers walking directions through a variety of different airports and malls. [slideshow] A user over on The Verge forums did an interesting mock-up of the 4-inch iPhone. The shorter side’s size remains the same, while the longer side is increased (640-by-1152 pixels). Go over to The Verge for a few more screenshots. What do you think? I especially like that extra row of apps on the home screen and the ability to better play widescreen videos. Current apps would need a re-write to take advantage of the extra pixels or else letterboxing would occur, so it is a bit far-fetched....

As an owner of the LG UltraFine 5K Display, I often find myself using my 2016 MacBook Pro in closed-display (clamshell) mode with a keyboard attached to the display’s USB-C port. This allows me to enjoy the best of both worlds — a portable machine for when I’m on the go, and a 5K desktop setup for when I’m stationed at my desk. Removed Windows Features Groove Music Pass is one that we knew was getting the ax in October of last year. If you were one of the few who did subscribe (yours truly included) should have already transferred Groove Music Pass playlists to Spotify. You can still use the Groove Music app to play you own locally stored music and that also includes any tunes stored on OneDrive, too. HomeGroup which was introduced with Windows 7 is a Windows folder and printer sharing feature, however, it is no longer in this version of Windows....

The Apple Watch has notably caused smartwatch efforts by other companies to fail, and a new profile from Fast Company details the impact Apple had on Samsung’s efforts in the category. The report explains that it all started back in 2011, when it was first rumored that Apple had an interest in developing a smartwatch. Once those rumors emerged, Samsung executives reportedly began thinking of how to best compete with Apple’s efforts, and ideally, beat Apple to the market....

It’s been months since WhatsApp started to develop iMessage-like reactions for its app. Now, the company seems almost ready to release this feature. On its Twitter account, WABetaInfo posted screenshots of what reactions for WhatsApp will look like for iOS and Android users. As reported previously, users will be able to react to a specific message once, and reactions are limited to six emojis.
