Apple will begin requiring developers to provide more privacy details about their apps starting December 8, as we reported here last month. While this feature is not yet available to users, developers can already submit their privacy reports to the App Store. Privacy labels have been introduced as a new iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur feature that will inform users about what data third-party apps can access, such as location, photos, and contacts....

After Apple’s October “Unleashed” event, the company added even more M1 Macs to its lineup as it continues its two-year transition to Apple Silicon. Despite this expansion, there are a few Macs that still run Intel chips being sold by the company. Here they are. As of now, there are three Macs that Apple sells that run Intel chips: the 2020 27-inch iMac, the 2019 Mac Pro, and the 2018 Mac mini....

Apple earlier today unveiled a major redesign for the Music app as part of iOS 10. We reported earlier this year on many of the changes, but now we’ve had the chance to get our hands on the redesign in all of its glory. The Music app in iOS 10 brings a host of changes, many of them visual, but also a few new features as well. The first thing you’ll notice when you open the new Music app is that you’re taken immediately to the “Library” tab of the app, which shows a breakdown of all the music you’ve most recently added and options to view either by playlist, artist, album, song, or downloaded....

Facebook announced its new dating service at F8 earlier this year. Codenamed “Gemstone”, the project is supposed to be a competitor to other dating services such as Tinder and Match, with one major advantage: it’s going to be a feature inside the main Facebook app. While the app is still in beta, and meant for Facebook developers only, we were able to gain exclusive screenshots of its onboarding process on iOS....

Hannibal season 1 episode 7 “Sorbet” proved even the title character needs someone to talk to. Following Hannibal Rising, the franchise was looking pretty dead. This 2007 prequel focused on the origins of young Hannibal, played Gaspard Ulliel, and ended with the implication of further cannibalistic adventures, but the movie was a critical and commercial dud. Anthony Hopkins had also ruled out reprising the role again following 2002’s Red Dragon and audiences seemed to have grown weary of the character....

The Dursleys are hardly anyone’s favorite characters in the Harry Potter universe. Why would they be? They treated Harry terribly throughout his entire childhood and well into his teenage years. As a Toyota driver, I’ve been subjected to the company’s horrible Entune-powered head unit for the last 6 years. On my 2012 model, it’s bundled with a matte resistive touch screen that requires you to press in on the display to control the unit. As you can probably imagine, the stock unit is extremely clunky and difficult to use. It’s so bad that I wouldn’t purchase a new Toyota without a new capacitive CarPlay unit built in....

The Black family from Harry Potter were an interesting bunch. Although not main characters of the series, for the most part, a lot of information about them leaked out through the other characters and through J.K. Rowling herself. They were definitely an odd bunch — proud pure-bloods, with some eccentricities that are pretty hard to ignore. It doesn’t seem harsh at all to claim that they were, hands down, one of the most messed up families in the series — awful, supremacist, and often unhinged....
