HBO’s True Detective season 3 has wrapped filming in Fayetteville, Arkansas, ahead of its premiere at an as-yet unannounced date in 2019. Best Supporting Actor Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) is headlining the third season of the crime anthology TV show, with series creator Nic Pizzolatto once again writing every episode. According to the official synopsis, True Detective season 3 will unfold across three different time periods as it tells “the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks”....

With the first products using Apple’s HomeKit platform for home automation accessories arriving earlier this month, Apple has updated its support page detailing a full list of supported Siri commands. The Siri commands, which will act as the main method of controlling HomeKit accessories, include many that you’d expect such as ones for turning accessories on or off or adjusting settings, but also a long list of commands that will be used for accessories that get grouped together into homes, zones, rooms or scenes....

The Redmond, Seattle-based software company has clarified numerous of times that pirates — and anyone who doesn’t possess a valid Windows license — won’t be getting the new operating system update for free. But Microsoft has until now not explained what will happen to users who have signed up for Windows Insider program — that is, will they get any leeway from the company. The second season of Netflix original series, The Haunting of Hill House has a second season based on a different spooky tale coming next year, but it also has a direct competitor by way of a film that’s set to be released in January 2020, The Turning. Director Mike Flanagan has already proven himself to be more than capable of delivering scares to audiences and telling a good story, so it’s a definite that Bly Manor will be another breathtaking example of his deft skill....

Zdziarski has an impressive technical background. He helped to develop some of the first software jailbreaks for iOS. After writing and directing the first two Avengers films for the MCU, reshaping DC’s Justice League film, and departing a planned Batgirl feature, Joss Whedon is set to return to television and deliver his first series in several years with The Nevers. Despite the online protests that have surrounded Confederate since it was first announced, HBO president Casey Bloys insists the show’s slow progress is due solely to creators David Benioff & D.B. Weiss’ Star Wars commitments. So far, the series counts Louis Gossett Jr., Regina King, Don Johnson, and Tim Blake Nelson among its stars, though which character each actor is playing is so far unconfirmed, despite a presumed casting breakdown having leaked. The question of who these characters are and how they fit into the Watchmen universe is one of the biggest regarding the new show and Lindelof’s plans for it....

Henry Cavill has issued an apology for his controversial comments over the #MeToo movement. The Justice League and Mission Impossible: Fallout star landed in hot water this week when he made some remarks about the recent feminist movement that originated in Hollywood and has since spread across the entire globe, triggering a wave of backlash that has pressured the actor to take a few steps back and apologize. The #MeToo movement began last year with an exposé that detailed a wide number of sexual assault allegations made against famous producer Harvey Weinstein by women in Hollywood....

Henry Cavill, who plays Superman in Warner Bros’ DC Extended Universe, celebrates National Superhero Day by praising Marvel and DC stars. The DCEU has gotten off to a bit of a rocky start, with Warner Bros’ two 2016 entries - Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad - receiving largely negative reviews and a divisive reaction from moviegoers, though both did perform well at the box office. In the wake of Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad, comic book fans debated the merits of Warner Bros’ path to establishing their cinematic superhero universe and compared the DCEU to the likes of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise and, more often, Marvel Studios’ Marvel Cinematic Universe....

It’s no big secret that the way Petunia and Vernon Dursley treated Harry Potter is pretty awful. They were overall very hateful and never wanted to have to take care of Harry.
