Social chatter around New Year’s resolutions has been, to be honest, slow to get off the ground in 2020. We used Sprout Social Advanced Listening to learn what was causing this muted response and found only 27,208 messages across Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Reddit from November 14-December 14. For comparison, one month’s worth of data on Halloween generated 13 million messages across Twitter alone. There are a couple of factors likely contributing to the dip in conversations surrounding 2021 goal setting....

Apple earlier today pushed iOS 9 beta 3 to developers, and this build includes the company’s new News app. The app was unveiled back at WWDC last month, but was not included in the first two beta builds of iOS 9. News is designed with a Flipboard-like magazine interface with large images and minimalistic appearance. One of the new features of iOS 16 is Lockdown Mode, which helps users protect themselves against targeted cyber attacks by disabling multiple device features. Among everything Lockdown Mode changes, it also restricts web browsing – and now software engineer Alexis Lours details how exactly that happens. After teasing its first iOS controller that would work with Apple’s new MFi standard for game controllers, today we get what appears to be an official press shot of Logitech’s upcoming gamepad for iPhone that first leaked at WWDC earlier this year (via @evleaks). We noticed that Logitech left space for the rear camera, which is nice for augmented reality apps and other games that utilize the iPhone’s camera.
