Throughout the Harry Potter film franchise, audiences are shown the wizarding world’s government arrangement, also known as the Ministry of Magic. From the Sorcerer’s Stone to the Deathly Hallows, the Ministry of Magic is rarely shown in a positive light. They are generally perceived as egocentric, power-hungry leaders who use propaganda for their own agenda. We catch an initial glimpse of Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic, in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when Harry accidentally blows up his Aunt Marge....

Although the Harry Potterseries is primarily told from the titular character’s point of view, there are a number of main characters introduced to us throughout the course of the series. Aside from the Golden Trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, there are other Hogwarts students, professors, Order of the Phoenix members, and even Death Eaters whose lives became integral parts of the story. Most of these people are consistently praised or acknowledged, at least on some level, by those around them, and may even be favorite characters to many readers....

Hatchet, a modern horror franchise from director Adam Green, introduced audiences to Victor Crowley, who is unmistakably the best slasher villain in a decade. Green’s Hatchet released in 2006 and was produced on a micro budget of $1.5 million, a big chunk of which likely went into the film’s copious amounts of blood, guts, viscera, and other practical effects. The film, which was incredibly successful with horror fans, festivals, and audiences got mixed reviews from other major critics....

The Hellboy (2019) reboot, starring David Harbour, is the opposite of 2018’s Venom, and that’s why it fails to be an enjoyable comic book superhero movie. Created by Mike Mignola in the 90s, Hellboy is a half-demon half-human character who was the focus of another film adaptation prior to 2019’s iteration. In 2004, Guillermo del Toro released his Hellboy movie, starring Ron Perlman as Big Red, and the pair reteamed for 2008’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army....

HBO boss Casey Bloys has defended one of the network’s flagship properties, Westworld, after its second season came under fire for being overly complex. The first season of the futuristic Western loosely based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name was a huge success for HBO, enjoying both strong ratings and a positive critical reaction. However its sophomore outing proved far more divisive, with the overriding criticism being that its story was difficult for viewers to follow....

Armando Iannucci is headed back to HBO with the new comedy Avenue 5, as the network makes the series order official. Iannucci has long been associated with political comedies, after heading up such memorably foul-mouthed series as The Thick of It and HBO’s own perennial Emmy-winning comedy Veep. The writer and producer was the showrunner of the Julia Louis-Dreyfus-led series until season 4, paving the way for David Mandel to take the reins leading into its currently airing final season....

Obi-Wan Kenobi memes are some of the greatest Star Wars memes there are, as he also just happened to be one of the best aspects of the prequel trilogy. The Valiant Cinematic Universe will now be divided, as Paramount acquires the rights to Harbinger and more Valiant properties from Sony, who’ll retain Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot franchise. With Hollywood’s interest in shared comic book movie universes, Sony first began working to create one for Valiant’s titles in 2016. The original plan was for two Harbinger movies and two Bloodshot films that would lead to a Harbinger Wars adaptation crossover. While Bloodshot picked up steam when Diesel signed on in 2018 and is approaching its early 2020 release date, the Harbinger movie has been stuck in limbo....
