The Wizarding World of Harry Potter introduced a number of incredible and dangerous spells, but none more so than the three Unforgivable Curses, and we explain which one of them was the worst. During its unveiling of iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 Yosemite yesterday, Apple mentioned that it’s adding 24 new dictation languages, but it didn’t specify what those languages would be. Dictation, a feature available on both iOS and OS X, uses speech-to-text technology powered by Nuance to let users input text using only their voice rather than a keyboard or touchscreen. Apple has gone from just 8 languages (with a few variations for some) to over 30 in Yosemite....

For a relatively inexpensive Apple Watch band ($30 compared to $50 Sport bands), I was actually impressed with the overall build quality of the specific band I tested. The shiny lugs match the stainless steel Apple Watch just fine (although you can tell they’re cheaper), but might contrast with the matte Apple Watch Sport aluminum and wouldn’t match other colors. The three rings on the strap are a bit darker, however, and would look great matched with an Apple Watch Sport....

Tim Cook will be featured in a new TV show. The Emmy Award-winner Hank Azaria will play Apple CEO in the Uber series Super Pumped on Showtime. Hank Azaria is known for voicing Moe Szyslak from the animated show The Simpsons and acting in many TV shows and films. He will be performing as Apple CEO Tim Cook, as first reported by Variety. According to the publication, Azaria joins previously announced cast members Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kyle Chandler, and Kerry Bishé....

As HBO’s new standalone streaming service launches today exclusively on Apple TV and iOS devices, FastCompany has a story profiling HBO CEO Richard Plepler and the motivation behind the new service and partnership with Apple. HBO’s Deadwood: The Movie trailer teases the many character reunions (and violence) to come in the film. It’s been over fifteen years since David Milch’s gritty, foul-mouthed western series premiered on the network, making stars out of then lesser-known actors like Timothy Olyphant and Kim Dickens in the process. While the TV show was a critical darling in its time - winning multiple Emmy awards and taking home a Golden Globe for Ian McShane’s performance as saloon owner Al Swearengen - its ratings were never all that massive and it ended up being cancelled after three seasons....

This morning, HBO launched its new expanded streaming service: HBO Max, which is a superset of the existing HBO Now offering. You can get the HBO Max app on all Apple devices, but it comes at a price: the HBO partnership with Apple TV Channels is being wound down. Starting today, the HBO channel has been removed from the Apple TV app if you don’t already subscribe to it. If you are a current subscriber, the channel will still be visible for the time being but will not be updated to feature Max-exclusive content....

Henry Cavill has officially offered his congratulations to Gal Gadot and the entire team behind Wonder Woman on the film’s success.
