Heartstrings is Dolly Parton’s new anthology show on Netflix. The first season is eight episodes, each with a story inspired by one of the songstress’ classic songs. The tracks Parton chose for these episodes are not necessarily her best works, or even her most famous hits, but rather, the songs with stories Parton wanted to bring to life on screen. Parton’s anthology series is the kind of project the country legend has always wanted to do....

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser horror franchise raised the bar when it came to slasher storytelling in the 1980s. The series went on for quite some time before dwindling into relative obscurity, but not before committing some truly nightmarish imagery to film. To this day, the appearance of Pinhead and his Cenobites are simultaneously bone-chilling and awe-inspiring, which was entirely the point of Barker’s approach. Most fans of the Hellraiser franchise agree that Pinhead and his fellow Cenobites haven’t appeared in any worthwhile cinematic undertakings in decades, but that seems set to change with the upcoming debut of Hulu’s Hellraiser in early October....

Apple released OS X 10.10 Yosemite Developer Preview 6 today as we reported ahead of its expected public debut in October, and four new beautiful wallpapers of Yosemite National Park have been included. Other changes include several redesigned icons in the System Preferences app, tweaked user interfaces throughout the operating system, and more. The Harry Potter series is definitely under the genre of Fantasy, though there’s a fair bit of romance in it. As the series progressed, Harry had some encounters with romance with Cho Chang as well as Ginny Weasley, his best friend’s sister. Ginny also had a few boyfriends in her time at Hogwarts including Dean Thomas. While both Harry and Ginny, before ending up together, seemed to have played the field, there were a few potential matches for Ginny that would have been better suited for her....

Critics and culture commentators may scoff, but turning to classic toys as inspiration for blockbuster movies (either by involving said toys in the plot or adapting stories/characters associated with them) has turned into big business for Hollywood. While features like Jem & The Holograms and Battleship have been noteworthy box-office bombs, the Transformers and G.I. Nearly a decade before Henry Cavill got his big break playing Superman in Man of Steel, he encountered Pinhead in horror sequel Hellraiser: Hellworld. Cavill is a full-fledged A-lister now, having played a villain in last year’s action blockbuster Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and soon set to portray protagonist Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s highly anticipated TV series based on The Witcher franchise. We learned yesterday that Tim Cook almost pulled Uber from the App Store over the way it was tracking iPhones and tricking Apple engineers. Uber had seemingly found a way to ‘fingerprint’ individual iPhones even after the app was removed, and had taken steps to try to hide this behavior from Apple – one of many questionable business practices the ride hailing firm has made in recent years. The original NYT piece suggested that Uber was somehow able to track iPhones even after they had been erased, but well-connected John Gruber has come up with what seems like a more probable description of what the company was and wasn’t doing …...

Would you switch to Apple as a cellular provider? That’s the big question this week. Apple denied these reports, but there may be some details in this denial that lead other places. But there’s a world outside Hogwarts. England’s wizards are governed by the Minister of Magic, and during the story, Mr. Cornelius Fudge is the Minister, later replaced by Rufus Scrimgeour.
